CDs are read only media. Any file opened from the CD must be saved to the local or network drive to be opened as Read/Write.

| I am running windows XP and just recently installed office 2007, after
| downing SP2 onto my systems all documents come up read only. I can
| make changes on my system but if I burn info to a CD and try to open
| it on another system, it comes up "read only". My only solution thus
| far is to copy and paste the document to make any necessary changes
| but would like to avoid this and just want my system running the way
| it was before installing SP2. I tried to do a restore on my system
| prior to installing the SP2 patch but wasn't allowed to go back that
| far. Thanks for any suggestions.
