Office 2007 will run on Windows XP. If your school tells you it
doesn't,
then they are wrong.

However, their learning systems may have some tie into the particular
software, so be sure you are talking to someone who really understands
what
their requirements are, so you don't waste money on software you don't
need.

You are right, the school says MS Office Professional 2003 (because
