Office XP (2002) is valid. When you go to Help | About, what version of
Word do you show?

Thanks. I'm guessing I don't qualify as I have none of those items listed.
I
have all 2002 Office items. Sorry if I keep asking the same questions over
and over. My head is swimming! Also I apologize if I am not answering this
in
the correct place. Again...thanks!

I'm just curious why their "web site" would give you problems with
Office...
At any rate, this article tells you which products qualify for upgrade
pricing for Office 2003:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832288
Do 'Help | About' in your Office to see what you have, and compare it
with
the list on that page.

Thanks Susan. The woman at my school said that their techs are trained
in
the
03. She basically said the 07 and 02 would probably be fine. BUT if I
had
any
kind of tech issue w/their website, their people may not be able to
help
me
out. That's why they suggest 03. That being said. I must be a real
dunce.
I
went to that website again. And clicked on MS Office 03. Is this
correct?
that then just takes me to an add for MS Office 03. I don't know where
to
tell if I get upgrade pricing. Thanks for your help.

No, you can't order it from Microsoft. That page tells you whether
you
are
eligible for upgrade pricing. You would need to go to your local
computer
store, or find a retailer online to purchase the program you want.
Office 2007 will run on Windows XP. If your school tells you it
doesn't,
then they are wrong.
However, their learning systems may have some tie into the particular
software, so be sure you are talking to someone who really understands
what
their requirements are, so you don't waste money on software you don't
need.
Hope that helps.

You are right, the school says MS Office Professional 2003 (because
I
run
windows xp) They said if I run Vista, then to look for Office 2007.
So
I'm
guessing the 2007 with the Win xp would not work. I will ask them
though.
I
have gone to the website you linked for me and am confused as to
what
to
do.
I assume I click on MS Office Professional 2003 as that is what I
want
to
upgrade to. This then sends me to a page w/another link for MS
Office
Prof
2003. I click on this and it is an advertisement for this item. But
says I
can't order from Microsoft. I'm confused??? Thanks.

Hi, Lauri,
There is no such thing as Microsoft Office XP Prof 2003. Office XP
(2002)
and Office 2003 are different versions.
You may be able to purchase an upgrade at your local software
retailer.
Depending on which version of Office XP you have, you may qualify
for
upgrade pricing.

You might ask your training contact if 2007 would work with their
training.

I have Microsoft Office XP Professional for 2002. I am about to
start
online
courses that require Microsoft Office XP Prof 2003. I don't know
why
I
can't
just use the 2002. They say I might not be able to use the site
correctly.
Anyway, can I buy an upgrade for this? Or would I have to buy a
full
version?
Why is it that I can find Micro Office Prof 2007 full edition for
cheaper
than the 2003 one? Thanks for help.
