Re: office xp CD missing

Dear Ramos,

Glad to hear you managed to find a way round your update problem.
Can you share the solution with the rest of us as I have a similar problem
with no discs and getting as far as 'PRO.MSI' before the update fails.

Inspection of the 'About xxx' information for the individual Office
programmes, shows they are all 'SP3' after this 'failure', except for Excel.

Excel will not open without setting off the 'Installing.....PRO.MSI' fun and
games - as was the case when we tried to update to SP2, and had to give up.
We get around it by fishing out the old Excel.exe and putting a link on the
desk top, but obviously would prefer the proper update if it is possible.

How did you do it?
