Re: 2003 Service Pack 1 Update but I have Service Pack 2

GayeSF:

Well, I believe you may be confused by all the SP's out there. I understand
you have Windows XP Home edition SP2 and Office 2003 Basic installed?
Windoes XP SP2 doesn't update your Office product, the Office products you
have installed can have their own SP level. For example: you can have Windows
XP SP2 and have Office 2003 at SP1. To see what Office products the Basic
version includes you can go to Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft Office and
that should have links to all Office apps. I believe Basic includes Word,
Excel and Outlook. To find out what SP level your product is at in any
program (Word, Excel or Outlook) got o the Help menu and choose the "About
Microsoft Office..." option. On the very first line, at the very end there
should be the Service Pack number, if you have one installed, something like

Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (11.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx) SP1

or soemthing similar. If there is no SP1 at the end of that line, then your
product is at RTM or an original installation.
We release SP updates periodically for our products to improve their
performance and security, so I recommend you scan your machine for any needed
updates (especially SP1 and above for Office). To scan for Office updates go
to www.officeupdate.com and click on "chech for updates". You should do the
same for your Windows XP Home by going to www.windowsupdate.com and choosing
Express Install.

Hope this helps.
