According to my research, there are several probable causes for such type of
issue. Please follow the steps below to resolve the problem. Your patience
and
cooperation are deeply appreciated.

1. Double-check whether there are some redundant or old Office products
traces on your computer.

To do this, click Start menu-> Control Panel. If Control Panel is not in
Classic View, click Switch to Classic View, and then double-click the "Add
or Remove
Programs" icon. If you find some suspicious Office products entries shown in
the "Currently installed programs" section, please remove them and test the
issue
again.

2. Clean the temporary files and install the updates from the local hard
disk. To do this, follow the steps below:

(a) Download the unsuccessful SP3 to your local hard disk from the following
link:

Office SP3
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=85AF7BFD-6F69-4289-8BD1-EB966BCDFB5E&displaylang=en

(b) Click Start menu-> Run, type "%Temp%" (without the quotation marks) in
the Open box and press Enter.

(c) Empty the Temp folder.

(d) Click Start menu-> Control Panel. If Control Panel is not in Classic
View, click Switch to Classic View, and then double-click the Internet
Options icon.

(e) On the General tab, click Delete Files. Make sure that the "Delete all
offline content" check box is enabled, and click OK.

(f) Empty the Recycle Bin.

(g) Try to install the update you just downloaded locally.
