Lost Works CD that came with computer

    I am getting error messages when in word. The error
    message directed me to update my word software. I clicked
    on update.

    It asked for me to load my word CD from my Office XP 2002
    version. Shortly after loading what it needed, it asked
    me to load my Publisher software CD. Shortly after that
    it asked me to load my Works CD.

    I have never used nor had an occasion to use Works since I
    purchased my computer about a year ago from Gateway. I
    put all of the software that came with my laptop computer
    in the same box it was shipped in. I remember seeing the
    Works CD in the Microsoft CD and was most certain I placed
    in the shipping box all my other software came in. I hate
    to purchase another Microsoft Works CD in order to update
    the Word software, especially since I have not used Works
    since I received my computer. Is ther anyway that I can
    avoid having to purchase another Works software program.
    This costs $99.00. This is difficult to buy right now,as
    I was unemployed for 9 months without any income. We have
    had to take money out of my retirement and have for the
    first time ever have large credit card debt of over
    $20,000.

    I would appreciate your help. I have a new job and need
    my Word program to do my job.
