Are you sure this is a trial and not some version that has time limited use.
Its not the cd thats important but the key

Actually this particular trial CD can be used more than once. Everyone at
this school has the same CD. It comes with one of thier books. One of her
classmates installed it on her desktop and 2 laptops before getting the
"activated the maximum number of times" message. I sat there and watched
her
install and activate the software on two different laptops

You are wrong. A Trial cannot be activated 2 times. Never had been and
never will
be. You are thinking about a Retail copy of Office (depending on the
suite)which can
be installed on 2 machines one being a desktop and the other a laptop.
Unfortunately when the Trial period is over so is the functionality of
that Trial.
Make sure you save all needed data as so you can install them to your new
Retail
version of Office

I have a 6-month trial CD. I know it can be activated online twice. Is
there
anyway of using both those activations on the same computer? I was
just
speaking with someone who is taking a class dealing with all the
applications
in Office 2007. The CD has been activated once, but the trial is almost
over
because she got the CD last semester.
Is there anything that can be done short of formatting? Can the
activation
process simply be restarted? I'm pretty sure this person wouldn't be
able to
uninstall the program, remove all office files, and remove all keys.
So, I'm
not sure if that's an option for them
.
