Upgrade Office 2003 to Office Pro Plus 2007 - Remove 2003

I bought Office Pro Plus 2007 & installed over Office Small Business 2003. I
have XP SP2 OS. I checked the "Upgrade" box during installation. After
inst'n, all the 2003 software remains, even though I thought the 2007
instructions said it would remove the earlier versions. I like all the new
2007 programs. Is it OK to uninstall all the Office 2003 software or does
2007 need some of the 2003 files?
