Re: Configuring MS Outlook 2007 for first use with Win Vista

DL,

I'm sorry, but I think my WiFi Account is IMAP, which gives me access to the
internet only. I have no email address for the Emerald Isle, although I do
have a password.

Where do I go from here?

Its not the details I require, but those you require to set up your mail
account, these would comprise;
email User name, password, smtp & pop server settings, assuming a pop mail
account

Not sure exactly what details you require, but:
IPV4 connectivity
Physical Address is 00-13-E8-D2-B9-07
Network Type is SSID
Access Point is The Emerald Isle
Intel (R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965 AGN

Thanks again.

Although it states Outlook 2002/03 2007 is broadly similar

You will need the details from your ISP (internet service providor) in
order
to set up the mail account

As a home user, I'm not entirely familiar with anything you mention. I
have
Office Small Business 2007 and Windows Vista. I use AVG anti virus
software
and am not sure how to how to find details of my ISP, although I
currently
use the Emerald Isle.

Sorry to be so vague, but I will try and follow your instructions.

Thanks again for your help.

MAPI is still an Exchange environment, are you on Exchange or a home

Who is your ISP?

Thank you DL,

I was in Microsoft Exchange Server, but have now added MAPI as my
default
for sending email. The error message is new, but now reads, 'The
connection
to Micosoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or
connected
to
complete this action'. When I click OK, I'm asked to enter my
Microsoft
Server details (which I don't know) before the same error message
appears
again and Outlook finally closes. You've helped me rid the first
error
message, but I still cannot access Outlook.

Any more ideas? Thanks.

If not Exchange, use the mail applet in the control panel to
correctly
configure your type of connection

When I attempt to open Outlook 2007 for the first time, an error
message
reads, 'The add-in "Outlook AddIns"
(C:/WINDOWS/System32/Config/mco.dll)
cannot be loaded and has been disabled by Outlook. Please
contact
the
add-in
manufacturer for an update. If no update is available, please
uninstall
the
add-in'. A second error message reads, 'The connection to
Microspft
Exchange
is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete
this
action.
Of course, I am 'online' (wifi) and have not got a clue what to
do
even
after reading numerous threads and help menus.
Can anyone help? Thank you.
