Hi John,

Which version of Office 2003 are you using on the PC, Office 2003 Professional edition, or others? Follow the steps below to see if you can get back the MODI (Microsoft Office
Document Imaging) writer.

1. Go to Control Panel >Add or Remove Programs.
2. Locate the Office 2003 > click Change.
3. Choose Add or Remove Features, click Next.
4. Go to the entry Microsoft Office\Office Tools\Microsoft Office Doucment Imaging.
" If it is set as "Not available" or "installed on first use", set it as "Run all from My Comptuer", click Update.
" If it has been set as "Run from My Computer", set it as "Not available", click Update. And then repeat the steps to set it as "Run all from My Computer" to reinstall this feature.

What is the result?

If anything is unclear or if you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Emily Lin

Hi John,

The MS Office Document Image Writer is included in Office 2003 and Office
2007 but it's an optional feature install of MS Office
Document Imaging.

You can set that option to 'run from my computer' state by changing the
Microsoft Office 2003 choice in Add/Remove Programs in the
Windows control panel.
