Re: Installing Office 2007 on Terminal Server

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi
I have come across this same issue here in my office. We were about to sell
a copy to one of our clients and tested it first in our office. Comes up
with the same message that you guys got.

Can someone confirm the following for me. Office 2007 will work on a TS with
a VLK with the Enterprise edition or will it work with the VLK for the Pro
Plus edition also. I haven't been able to test either of these options but
can someone confirm with me either way if only the a vlk enterprise edition
will work or if both do.

Thanks in advanced

Bob, I am a little late on the review of this, but then my Action Pack did
not arrive until last week. I did the same thing as Tom did, and I got
the
same response. If your answer is that same then what are my choices? Is
there an Office that will run on my Windows 2003 SBS? I was going to demo
this to a customer and will be only be able to show it on a stand-alone
PC.
We use the same box to demo TS capabilities.

Hi Tom,

If you check the page that has the Office 2007 product key on the Partner
site does the listing for that particular key say it is a
Volume License Key? The wording and path you use to get to the key may
make it appear that it is not a retail key. If you were
requested to activate the software then the key is a non-Volume License
one and you won't be able to install on Terminal Server.

II am a Certified Partner and have received my VL Keys. I downloaded the
"Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Edition X12-19574. I have successfully
installed the product with my VL Key on a stand-alone PC running Windows
XP.
I now am trying to install on my Windows 2003 R2 Terminal Server. The
install goes fine, it accepts the VL Key and after the reboot and getting
logging back in to the Terminal Server none of the office Apps will
start.
They start, then i get a dialog box that states the following. "This
copy of
Microsoft Office <Application> cannot be used on Terminal Server. Please
contact your local authorized Microsoft retailer for more information.

I have researched this error and the only solution is to install a Volume
License version of Office 2007 as those requiring Activation are not
supported on a TS. My issue is that this IS a VL version.

I then uninstalled the Office Enterprise and installed the Office
Professional Plus VL Version. Same Issue!

What can I do to get the Office 2007 Enterprise VL version working on TS?
