Windows XP sr2 with automatic updates on.

First, I have already deleted the Building Blocks.dotx after reading that
article, but after I had already used the Windows Install Clean Up utility

1.)
When I start Word I get the message "Word could not create the work file.
Check the temp environment variable".

I do not know all the consequences of this error message. I can save a file
though. However, when I copy something from an internet page and try to
paste it as html, I get the same message, then the paste is done as
unformatted text of the page including the contents of any drop down box on
the page.

CTRL and Word (in safe mode) starts okay, just as in the normal mode. But
when I create a document using a blank template or one downloaded from office
online, I get the same message and same behavior when, for instance,
copying/pasting html.

2.) Makes no difference whether I use safe mode or note, Excel starts okay,
but..
Upon starting Excel, I am alread in a blank workbook.
If I type a few leters in a cell, then go to another cell, say one to the
right, I get the following error message
"Microsoft Office Excel cannot open or save any more documents because there
is not enough availale memory or disk space.
* To make more memory... no longer need.
* To free disk space... are saving to."
Now when I edit and move, no more errors occur, but I have not exhaustively
tested other functionality.
I also get this message when I try to save this file; then Excel exits with
a request to send a report and/or recover.
When I choose recover, Excel saves the file, then reopens with the recovered
file which, as far as I can tell, can now be edited and saved without error
messages.

I can also use other templates without any reprecussions.

3.)

In Outlook: Outlook opens fine, sends and receives, but when I open a file
I get the message "Outlook could not create the work file. check the temp
environment variable."

The file is opened but error messages where files were linked to graphics.
Adding to trusted zone and downloading graphics has does not work. Going out
to the inbox and trying to open the email again results in Outlook hanging.

I have checked the enviroment variable in the past and emptied by following
article KB 923718 for emptying temp. However, in this article it said not to
use the Windows Installer Cleanup utility...and I did before I read this
article. This article was written for the beta TR update. By the way, the
beta worked fine.

Well, that's about it, except that I have reinstalled Office 2007 and it
still doesn't work properly. Separate installations of Visio 2007 and
Project 2007 work okay.

Do the same errors occur if you start Word 2007 or Excel 2007 while holding down the ctrl key?

A common issue is in leaving the 'Building Blocks.dotx' from a prior version in place from the Beta. You'll need to remove rather
than rename it as the renaming seems to be easily 'watched' by the installer and Office apps :)

At first, I thought my problem was only with Excel, but have since discovered
that for all applications, the default templates cause a error with various
error messages.

I have been through numerous possible solutions from Knowledge Basic
articles to finally uninstalling Office 2007 and reinstalling it.

I had the beta 2 TR on this machine and ended up running the Windows Install
Cleanup utility which I probably should not have done.

My question is: does anyone know how I can repair or replace the default
templates in each Office 2007 application and what the the registry should
contain for these?

I suspect that the beta 2 TR was not completely or properly removed and/or
the registry was not properly wriiten for office applications.
