Hi Peter,
If you're wanting to remove all of Office 97 without the CDs then this article may help.

If you are removing only bits and pieces the AcmeSetup program used by Office 97 does need the original CD. A lot of Office is from
shared files (between the apps) and removing individual apps/features may not give you a large savings of space.

I've just resurrected an old laptop I want to take backpacking. All I want
to do is keep a journal, store extra pics etc and it' perfect for this.
However I need to free up disk space but it won't let me remove unneeded
office components like access and PowerPoint without the (long gone)
original disks.
Any tips very gratefully received.
