Terry,
Sure, there is a conclusion,
skip Nero; use a simple;yet totally effective; FREE app from Terrabyte Unlimited.
Burncdcc.
Simple;free; can change speeds; and I've NEVER had one single problem burning iso's with it. period.
Had an MVP show me burncdcc; it's the easiest and best iso burner out.
Not once; has it failed to burn an iso correctly;not once; and I've burnt lots since b4 CPP.

Your experience does seem to point the finger at the Office ISO: but it is strange that it works fine when burnt using an XP PC. There really doesn't seem to be a real conclusion to this.

Terry Farrell wrote:I did several experiments yesterday comparing how Nero 7.5.7.0 was burning on Windows XP and Windows Vista computers to see if I could work out what is different. Both computers have the same LGE GCE-4167B DVD-RW drive with the same level of firmware.
When I burn on the on the XP machine, Nero reports various burn speeds throughout the burn cycle, commencing slowly (around 12X) until it reaches around 32X at the end of the burn. This seems correct to me because CDs are burnt starting from the inside tracks where the rotational speed is relatively slow compared to the outer tracks. To test this theory was correct, I burnt a 720MB avi file file (that uses nearly all the available disk) and that started at 12X and finished at 36X. I am sure that had this been a full disk, the outer tracks would have reached 40X - the maximum speed the drive burns to CD.
On the Vista computer, this didn't happen. Nero reports that the drive is burning at 40X throughout the burn.
My conclusion is that Nero is at fault when running on a Vista platform.
However, it does seem to burn DVDs correctly - as was proved when I burnt Vista ISO. Had it messed up the VISTA burn, I would probably have got to this conclusion MUCH earlier!

That seems to incriminate Nero then.
