Yes, remove the Dell drivers and go with the Microsoft drivers for that printer. Whenever that printer is selected as default or selected in Word/PPT, Word/PPT will crash.
That particular printer has been causing that problem under Vista since B2TR and Dell hasn't managed to fix it yet in their driver.
