Office must be activated. You get about 50 uses before it becomes a viewer.
You will probably have to select the telephone activation option if it won't
go thru the net for whatever reason.
There is another version of Office due out the beginning of next year.
And no, reformatting doesn't negate the activation. If it did, people would
go nuts screaming about MS keeping track of what they are doing with their
computers.

I purchased the full version of Office 2003 Professional for my personal
use
some time ago now - when it first came out - 3 years have gone by now. I
have had approximately 3 computers since purchasing the software. It was
extremely expensive to purchase and I feel I should be able to still be
able
to use it for my own use. I have not had any trouble with it until
recently
when....
I purchased a laptop and would also like to install MY copy of Office
2003
Pro on it also. It shows that it must be activated because the software
has
been used beyond the limit. Microsoft will not activate it thru the
internet
connection. What do I need to do?
Is there a new version coming out anytime soon? It's been 3 years since
this one came out. As quickly as computers are outdated these days, it's
unlikely a person will keep the same one this long. How do I get to use
MY
software on my laptop?
I paid over $600 for this software. It is not downloaded and it did not
come preloaded on a computer. I have the actual discs but I am assuming
that
the key code is what keeps it from activating.
When I changed computers, the hard drive was reset or erased, so that
should
negate the installation but it doesn't. Help!
