Hi chuck,
The LIS tool won't help with Office 2000, because Office 2000 came before
local installation source was available.
I'd repair / reinstall your installations; however, keep in mind that Word
is going to do the "reinstalling" thing because that's how it works when
there are multiple versions installed on a system.

Upon installing Office 2003 on my work computers, I opted to "remove
installation files' when finished (not knowing better). Now, Office
Update wants the installation disk when I update, and it has asked for
it when launching certain programs such as Front Page 2000. (I have
both 2000 and 2003 on the machines in separate folders.) So, it seems
it removed the installation files for 2000 as well. Also, it often
flashes that it is "installing" 2000 and shows a progress bar when I
open programs like Word.
I'd rather not reinstall the whole program as I have several computers
and some are remote users. Is there any way to overcome this problem
where it will stop this behavior. Can the Local Installation Source
Tool from MS help?
Thanks.
