Office Xp Issue (Powerpoint)

Recently upgraded to Office Xp (2002). Powerpoint used to work, but is now
giving me grief on presentations that allow for user selections, it keeps
coming up with the following message "Some controls on this presentation
can't be activated. They might not be registered on this computer".
I have found this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q291893/ which
seems to indicate my problem BUT it isn't fixing the problem and i continue
to get the message. Any thoughts?
