Regarding the Office 97 setup, try to clean up any remainders of files

and re-running setup after it.

Thanks. Just so I am clear on this (because I have previously been to that
link you supplied)... regardless that Office does NOT appear in my
ADD/REMOVE
list of programs, you are suggesting that I complete the other steps
listed
after that?
And would it be necessary for the Office install disk to be in the PC in
order to uninstall?
