Hi,
I don't see anything in the log about an invalid key? Looks like setup is OK, but MSI is not happy. Are you running this from a CD, and if so, where did you get the CD?

Why did you uninstall Office 2000? Uninstalling and reinstalling seldom fixes anything.
See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=842566 "'This is an invalid CD Key value' error message when you try to install Microsoft Office".
If you still can't get the CD key to work, then uninstall Office 2000 again, download and run one or both of the removal utilities at:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=239938
Utility to completely remove remaining Office CD1 files and registry entries
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=247674 OFF2000: Utility to Completely Remove Remaining Office CD2 Files
... and then try to reinstall Office 2000.

Hello I am currently running windows 2000 service pack 4. I recently uninstalled office 2000 and am now trying to reinstall but everytime I get to the point it ask for the cd key it says that its invalid. I know it is valid because I tried it on another pc and it works perfectly fine. Is there something in the registry that I may have to delete because of the previous installiation? HELP ME PLEASE, this computer the office is installed on is vital to our day to day operations. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance
