Try posting this to an SBS group - it is such an oddly cobbled together set
of applications that only the real experts can sort it out.

After furious head scratching, Douglas asked:
| I built a new machine with SBS 2003 Standard Edition. During the
| initial install, I also added Office for SBS 2003. During the final
| stages of the install, it prompted for checking the net for recent
| updates and deleting the installation files. I said yes to both. It
| started the network search for updates, but blew up with an error
| indicating that the network had yet to be configured. Actually, in
| the tray there was an icon that wanted me to do that. I had not done
| it. Following the error the installation files were deleted. In
| order to solve the problem, I configured the network and went to
| office update to complete the installation by looking for any
| updates. It found some and I clicked to install them. The
| installation started and immeadiately display a message saying
| installation unsuccessful. I have tried to repair Office and
| reinstall from the CD. I continue to receive this message on all
| updates that I attempt. I do not have any Anti-Virus software
| running right now and have plenty of disk space. I hate to do this,
| but short of a network problem or microsoft download server problem,
| do I have to uninstall Office and then start over again? How do I
| know if the microsoft download server is having problems.
