If you are willing to invest about $50, you can buy the
IntelliMover program, and it will move settings and
preferences, as well as anything else (except programs) you
might want to move. It will also furnish the necessary
cables as part of the price. I got my IntelliMover from
Dell, but you can probably get it cheaper on EBay.
