Thank you for the suggestion.

I've uninstalled my AV as advised, however that hasn't resolved the problem.
I still cannot send emails with attachments. Is there anything else I can
try??

uninstall that Av, and retest

I have just bought a new computer and am using Outlook 2007.

When sending emails with attachments, according to outlook, the email will
not send. However the receipient receives the email numerous times until I
physically delete the email from the outbox.

I can't see any problems, can you please help... Happy to provide more
information when requested.
