some thing to keep
in mind,
is to use the usb
to transfer files
on / off the hard
drive.
thus if the files on
the usb were copied
onto the disk then
viewed / opened,
then the files on the
usb would be preserved.
as for any file, if it
is modified and saved,
then there is no undue.
however, perhaps you
can use a graphics
software like photo shop
and see if you can edit
the pics and manually
fix them.

I had several photos saved on a USB drive. When I opened one to view it, then
closed it, it changed everything that was saved in a Microsoft Picture
Manager with that icon on eveyone that was saved and when I open any of them,
there is nothing there but the icon. Can you please help me get them back?
Most were saved from our digital camera with a jpeg format. Others that were
not that format are gone too. When I put in the USB the files are still
there, but no photos, just the icon with Microsoft Picture manager.
Thanks for any help.
