my PC had a 'trial' office 2007 when purchased, which i didn't use. later, i
purchased a copy of office home and student 2007 and successfully loaded it
on 3 family computers, mine included. no problems. later i got dialog boxes
on my PC saying the 'trial' version would expire Mar 31. i clicked the
'convert' button, entered my product key from the purchased office 2007
home/student copy, and was told my product key is invalid. works on the
other PC i installed it on. now i can't find any site on the microsoft web
that can help, and i'm worried i'll lose my software. any suggestions???
You should have uninstalled the trial version before installing the H & S version. Uninstall the paid version and also the trial version, along with any activation wizard, found in Add/Remove or Programs & Features in control panel. Reinstall the H & S and activate.
If this still doesn't work there may be some leftovers from the uninstall. You would then need to go to this web site and follow the procedures listed to totally remove all traces of Office before the reinstall.
