I do click outside text box so focus is not on text box and text remains same
(as I expect). Next I click on Save icon (which I have set up to permanently
save) and text is sometime enlarged so no longer readable.

Click on the document so that the text box is not the object with focus.
Then you should see the actual image.

Before I save text box, the font looks normal and fits in box. It is only
after I click YES to permanently save, that text gets large.

It doesn't happen all the time: once when I rotated image, it happened and
it happened to other people.

Then might I suggest you look at it BEFORE you save?

I have annotation set to Permanent save, so I do not see font change until
after burned into image. then I have no way to view truncated text or edit
font type.

When you exit the edit mode then the image is displayed. You are allowed
to set/adjust the font size and box size to that which you need to
achieve the desired results. If the Default font is not what you desire,
change it.

Why does font size change, when I edit a TIF document in MS document Imaging?
Specifically, after closing a text box, the font appears bold (or larger?)
and does not entirely display.
