I never said I installed it in my grandmother's PC I said I left it in my
grandmother's...as in her house. I thought this was good for 5 installs not
two, I think I am thinking of Norton. I know the student version is good for
three.
Not a big deal I don't use the other computers for anything other than media
so I will
just switch the main liscense to my new desktop and keep it on my laptop.

Office Standard is only licensed for two computers, a primary device and a
portable device for use by the primary device's primary user. Office Home
and Student is for three computers "within the same household and not for
commercial use" (my quotes) Grandmother's computer is not physically within
the same household unless you are living there, but you say you are in MO
which means that it would violate the license agreement by having GM's
computer with a copy and your computer in MO with a copy.
Either way, you have violated the licensing agreement with Microsoft.
Either way, before installing any other Office product on the new desktop
uninstall the trial version and any associated activation wizards and reboot
the computer, otherwise bad things will be sure to happen when you try to
run the installation.
If you reread your original post I think you could see how it appeared that you had the program installed in three computers and your grandmothers. Oh well, as you said it isn't a big deal.
The only software version that Microsoft sells that can be installed on 5 computers is a volume license version of Office. I think you would know if you had purchased that as you can't just walk into any store and purchase it. You have to buy that from a volume license reseller. Glad you are going to fix the licensing issue.
Have a great day.
