If your software is not an OEM version, yes, you can do that.

I have had Office XP Professional for a few years now. I know that it is
not 2007 because we had some problems at work with backward compatibililty
with this product.
I just bought a new computer which has Vista operating system. Would it be
possible to install my office disks on this computer without buying some new
version?
