You don't enter the product key until you've installed it and are activating

Oh, something is really wrong then. The box which asks for the product
key is the first box which is shown.
This is shortly after putting the CD into the CD drive!
I see:
"Enter your Product Key"
"Type your 25 character product key"
"Although you are not required to enter your product key now, we
recommend you do so for ease of validating your Microsoft Office
License. For information about where your Product Key is located,
click the Help button."
I enter the product key, and I see a green tick , and then I click the
"Continue" button.
I then get a screen where I have to accept the terms of the agreement,
then click Continue.
I then get a screen with two buttons, Upgrade and Customize.
I click on Upgrade and I get the popup mentioned in the OP.
I am upgrading from Microsoft Office 2000. I am trying to install MS
Office Enterprise 2007 onto my XP SP2 desktop PC.
Does this help in diagnosing my problem?
Regards
Nick
