One might wonder why the purchaser didn't take advantage of Microsoft's 30 day refund policy if they decided they didn't want Office 2007.

What is your refund policy?
Microsoft products purchased via the Office Online web store are eligible for return within 30 days of the purchase date. Applicable tax paid will be refunded on eligible returns.
Exceptions to this return policy include:Microsoft Backup CD/DVDs are not refundable and are not included in our 30-day guarantee. License Lock BoxTM and Microsoft Backup CD/DVDs that are purchased as a special bundled offer are not eligible for refund.
The policy doesn't even say that the software must be unopened.
I wouldn't buy software from Craig's list unless it were a local purchase where I get to examine the package before plunking down my money.

owner states that it has never been used or open - and that he can't return
it cause he bought it direct from Microsoft.
How can I tell ahead of time is the key has in fact been used?
Thanks!
