Default Word Processor

I am using Office 2007 but I also have Word Perfect 11 installed. When I click on a .doc file which should open in MS Word, it instead opens up in Word Perfect. The only way I can get it to open up in MS Word is to right-click and then select "Open With" and then choose MS Word. Is there a way to stop Word Perfect from opening up a .doc file? Word Perfect file endings are .wpd so I don't know why a .doc file opens up in WP. Any suggestions for making MS Word my "default" word-processing program?
