I recently purchased and installed Office 2007. I'm having difficulty
adapting to the new look and the way 2007 handles macros and some add-ins in
Excel and also the formatting in Outlook. (all my inward mail is double
spaced and I can't find how to correct it) It also seems to have a mind of
its own when it comes to sorting mail into date order.

How can I roll back to my old Office XP 2002 without losing my emails etc.

Data is not affected when changing versions of Office - why would it be? Just uninstall 2007 and re-install 2002.
BEWARE - if your email is in a 2007-format pst file, Outlook 2002 will NOT be able to use it. You need to create a new data file in 97-2002 format in Outlook and copy all your data to it before uninstalling.
It would be prudent to backup all your data anyway, before you commence this operation...
