Hello Bob,
Thank you very much for replying again. I have followed your instructions
for recycling the mentioned temp.files. However, I don't know which other
printer to make default, since this is the only printer connected. Unless you
mean the Microsoft Office Document Image Writer. The question then is how to
use the HP printer still and can I still use the fax, which is also part of
this printer/scanner. I do recall with my previous HP printer that I was not
supposed to use the HP Director, because of similar problems. In itself of
course a ridiculous fact. I have also contacted HP, but no answer there yet.
In the mean time the problem continues and I can't get my work done properly.
Would you please be so kind to keep advising me of possible solutions?
Thanking you again,
Karin

Hi Karin,.
The crash information you listed for Word shows the HP driver and there have been a number of reports of issues with the PhotoSmart
software when that printer is set as the default printer. Try changing to a different default printer to start, also check to see
if your Adobe Acrobat (if you have more than just the Reader) product has all updates applied.
Before starting any of the office apps use
Start=>Search and recycle files found using
~$*.*;*.tmp
to clear out leftovers.

In Word it happens a lot when opening a document and closing it without any
changes, mostly when Word runs in compatibility-mode
In Excel the same actually
The documents/sheets are automatically closed and mostly started-up again
with a blank document.
Outlook-crashes considerably lessened after changing my CompuServe account
from imap to pop.
Office 2003 ran without any problems with all above mentioned software,
exept the HP C7280 software. However, the problems with Office 2007 occured
already before installing this printer.
Hoping you have enough to go on now and that you can help,
