Re: Office 2007 Pro to Ulitmate edition.

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

You're welcome. I'm glad to hear it all worked out. :-)

Unfortunately previous installations of applications in the same version is
not replaced when installing another suite. I forget the rationale behind
this behavior but I do recall they (MS) had a logical explanation. What I do
know is it can sure mess folks up when attempting to patch or add/remove
components and the CD/DVD is required. In any event, this shouldn't happen
to you since the installation has been straightened out.

Thanks for that Beth. I uninstalled both and reinstalled Ultimate, i then
activated the product over the phone rather than internet and it worked!!
Thanks.

More than likely you are still using two different installations. When
you
installed the Ultimate version I'll bet only the applications that
weren't
part of the Pro version were actually installed as part of the Ultimate
installation. First I'd try uninstalling everything. Look for both the
Pro
and Ultimate installations in Add/Remove Programs. Then reinstall the
Ultimate edition using the DVD you were sent.

I really could use some advice.
Basically 63 days ago I tried Office 2007 pro to check out the new
interface
and well generally try it. It expired on the 31st March 2008, so I
realised I
would need a product key. As I am a college student I found that I was
eligible for the Ultimate steel offer so I went for that. I got the
product
key (and the DVD), I immediately entered the product code when I was
asked
when pro expired, I was expecting a message say it was for ultimate but
it
didn't appear so I carried on using the pro applications. Today the DVD
arrived; I installed it (I was expecting an update option to upgrade
from
pro
to ultimate but none appeared). Anyway I went to try one note but its
telling
me a I need a product activation key so I entered the one I was given
but
I
get a error saying it was already used!! All the pro applications run
but
it's just the ultimate ones that don't.
Have I made a mistake by entering it in Pro in the first place? Can I
get
Ultimate working?
Thanks
