Now I'm a little confused - I want to replace Office 2000, Small Business
with 2003 Pro for my daughter at home, which is what they use at her school.
Is the academic version and the student/teacher version the same as the
"regular" 2003? There is a large price difference between all three, but I
want to purchase the one that will be the same as the Office 2003
Professional that is on the computers at her school. Thanks, Suzi

Yes, the academic version is only available to qualified students at the institution where this suite is sold. If you mean the Student and Teacher version, it is only for non-commercial use..

| diference other than price? Thanks Again, Suzi

|| You would probably be okay with the upgrade but Murphy's Law says
|| that something is going to happen that requires you to use that
|| product key. (I don't know what but "stuff happens".)
||
|| *If* it's within your budget, get the full version of Office - and
|| make sure you know where that key is. If you do opt for that, get it
|| from Amazon.com. Might as well save a few dollars on your purchase.
|| They frequently offer free shipping, which is very nice.
||
|| Also, make sure you check out the various editions of Office so that
|| you get what you need. Why pay for products you have no need for?

||| You have been so incredibly helpful. Since I don't have the product
||| key for
||| 2000, would you still suggest I go with the upgrade for 2003 Pro or
||| should I
||| buy the whole program? You can probably tell from my questions that

|||| You shouldn't. The product key would be nice but that's on a
|||| sticker on the
|||| CD sleeve your disks came in originally. If you can find that,
|||| keep it handy
|||| as well. There are programs that can find the product key for
|||| Office XP and
|||| up but not 2000. Microsoft can't help you with OEM software and
|||| Gateway won't help with a product key, especially one from that
|||| far back.
