Re: Office 2003 Very Slow - Will uninstall/reinstall help?

Any anti virus app that has an Office plugin?

Thanks again for your attention... I do not think it applies because I am
a
single user and do not have a network. And it is not necessarily the
files
that are slow to open, it is the program itself. Once the program is open
(after waiting and waiting ) the files open rapidly.

or do you have any mapped network drives?

Thanks for responding... When I click to open any of the Office Apps
(Word,
Excel, Publisher, Access) from the start/programs it takes 1min, 10
sec
to
open. Once open, everything functions normally. The same happens when
I
initially go to open a document from a folder. Once the program is
open,
opening another file proceeds "normaly" time-- immediate.

context

I have looked at the other Q & A in this subject in this thread, and
frankly,
as a pretty novice user, doing anything in the registry scares me to
death.
Would uninstalling (Misrosoft Office Pro 2003) the program, and then
reinstalling it help the situation?
BTW-- I did try starting it from the RUN box, and it laoded quickly.
