Enterprise will work on your laptop. The difference is some additional features, such as Information Rights Management and policy capabilities. These are available in Ultimate, Professional Plus, and Enterprise. See here for a full comparison of the different suites:

If your company uses information management rights, and if you need those capabilities on your own laptop... then Enterprise/Ultimate/Plus are the way to go. So, if Enterprise is a good deal for you, financially, go for it...

I have an opportunity to purchase office enterprise 2007 through my employer
for home use. Will enterprise work on a new laptop running vista premium. I
guess I do not understand the difference between Office 2007 and enterprise.
I really only need Word, Powerpoint and excel.
Thanks for the help
