Re: FULL version only temporary-Launch 2007 Resource kit

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Again, THANKS

Belarc reports the same key as on the launch kit.

This confirms what I had suspected since my last post. I reviewed KB927756
and when I found nothing there worked and by careful reading I thought they
were saying that the warning would come up in the program. I received an
email from Digital River telling me that my time was about to expire and was
trying to sell me a new key. At that time I believed it enough to suspect I
had a problem and wanted it resolved before the program was crippled. I now
think that email was deceptive and am wondering how many others are caught up
in that and possibly buying a key.

Your advice confirms to me that I have no problem beyond believing the email.

Again, thanks.

If MS reads this I suggest stop allowing sending out such deceptive emails,
or at the least include an explanation and a simple way to verify if the
email is true or not.

Thanks for the reply.

There was no trial version installed. The last office product was Office
2002 standard. If I remember correctly I uninstalled it first.

What's the next step?

I contacted MS customer service and they wanted to turn it into a tech
support issue-I didn't feel that was deserved.

Was a separate trial version installed on your computer at the time you
installed using the launch kit key? If so, and if you didn't remove it,
then it's likely that it's the trial version that's expiring... not the
version you activated using the launch kit key.

I attended the program and received the kit, both of which promised a full
version of Office Professional 2007 et al. I downloaded it online as
instructed and installed it using the key supplied with the kit also as
instructed. It is functioning OK.

I now get a notice that my trial version is expiring.

How do I correct this so that it is recognized as a full version?

Thanks
