Tim,
It's is in Word. I have said this repeatedly. Under type is POP/SMTP. Hoping
some MVP would post a response.

OK...I give up. I asked twice and you didn't answer if "word 2007" was a.
typo or not. I thought that was an important clue...important enough to ask
twice as I am not aware of an "Address Book tab" feature directly in Word.
But, then again, I am not an MVP so maybe I just haven't run across it yet.
In the Account Settings window of Outlook when looking at the "E-mail" tab,
there are entries for the e-mail accounts. There are two columns, the one on
the left is named "Name" and the column on the right is named "Type". I was
interested to know what it said under Type. It *has* to be there and it's
also an important clue...at least I thought so since if it said "Exchange"
that may have been the problem.
You are correct...I am not an MVP. I'm just a regular person trying to help.
I'm sure an MVP will come along shortly and solve this for you. Please
forgive me...I apologize for wasting your time trying to help you.

Tim,
I repeat, all the problems mentioned are in Word 2007. There is no problem
in Outlook 2007. I didn't find any "type" in the Outlook account setting.
I
geuss this problem has to be resolved by a MVP- Outlook or Word.

Hello Shams,
This is interesting as Word just uses Outlook to send messages. So if
Outlook is configured correctly and is working fine, in theory, sending
e-mail from Word should also work. I'm beginning to wonder if something
is
hosed in Word. Would running the office repair utility be in order?
It may be a minor thing but I asked in my previous post if you would
confirm
if it was a typo when you wrote "When I click on the Address Book tab, in
word 2007". Did you really mean *Outlook* 2007 or *Word*?
Also, in my previous post I asked if you could tell us what you see under
the "Type" column in Outlook's E-mail Accounts settings. Please quote
what
you see exactly.
Lastly, since you think this began after MS Live Mail was installed, have
you tried using System Restore back to a point in time before the MS Live
Mail install? I know you said you removed it but that may not be enough
(and
you didn't explain how you removed it).

Milly,
I didn't find any Exchange account in there. Only in "Show Profile",
there
are two accounts. One is a long number, which is highlighted, and the
other
is the Outlook, but it's set "Always use Outlook". As I explained, this
problem only occures in "Word" and I have no problem with Outlook 2007.

After furious head scratching, Shams asked:
| Tim,
| I'm a home user, using Office 2007 and this problem of MS Exchange
is
| new to me. May be it came up through MS Hotmail, which installed the
| MS Live Mail( I have taken it out now). My operating system is
| Windows Xp Professional SP2.
|
| When I click on the Address Book tab, in word 2007, I get the same
| error message like "Attach" mail tab that I repeat the error message
| again: "Logon faild. You must be on Microsoft Exchange to access
your
| Address book. Error Code: Unspecified error." But From Word, I can
| e-mail documents by clicking on "Send to Mail recepients" tab.
| Obviously, I'm using the Outlook 2007. I hope these would help you
to
| get me out of this MS Exchange mess.
|
|| It would help if you could provide more detail concerning your
