I believe what DL is telling you is this:Files
From Outlook, click on Tools and then Account Settings. Go to the Data
tab and click on Add. Browse for your PST backup file and click on OK toadd
it to Outlook.folders
Now, your backup PST file folders should appear in the left portion of the
Outlook window. You can then copy any/all messages from your backup
to your "main" inbox.you
When you are done, you can either leave the backup PST folders alone or
can go back to Tools - Account Settings - Data Files and remove the backupBut
PST entry.
It does not matter if you have Personal Folders Backup installed or not.
it's a good thing to regularly backup your PST file in case of fileyour
corruption. You shold also copy it somewhere other than your PC in case
disk drive crashes.steps
Hope that helps.

Hi DL
Many thanks for your reply - as I have not used Outlook before today for
any
of my emails, please could you clarify what you mean by your responses.
What do you mean by "If necessary copy data to the default file, but you
can
leave this data file open."
What would the default file be? Please let me know - I will try your
toand will post back in due course as to how I get on.

Within OL, Open the data file then copy data from this to your default
data
file, close it when finished.
Or, with OL closed locate the backup, presumably named 'Outlook
backup.pst'
rename it eg old.pst, then open it within OL. If neccessary copy data
2007?the
default file, but you can leave this data file open.

Hi all
Please could you let me know what would be the best method to restore
an
already backed up Oulook.pst file back into the Inbox in Outlook
installed
In other words, how do I go about restoring my backed up emails back
into
Outlook 2007?
Does it matter if the "Personal Folders Backup" programme is
or
not? - is it needed or not?
Please advise me of the best method to use.
Thanks for your help - all responses gratefully received.
Regards
.
