Office 2007 will open all previous versions of office files just fine.

After furious head scratching, Marianne asked:

| I have been using Office 97 Pro and recently purchased Office 2007
| Pro. I haven't installed it yet. I am using the XP operating
| system. Every now and then Word 97 will freeze up and MS suggests
| upgrading, since 97 is no longer supported. It doesn't happen that
| often and I can live with it. I am wondering if my Office 97
| documents will open in the new version Office 2007. I have read some
| of the comments here about the differences and think I should just
| leave well enough alone and not install 2007. Especially, if my old
| documents will be useless. I also have some Office 2000 documents.
