Hi Luca,
While the new MS Equation Editor in Word 2007 has a lot of nice features it isn't in its current form a complete implementation of
all of the features in http://mathtype.com and we have no way of know ing from your post what features you may need in your work :)
You may want to check with the folks at MathType and/or try both to see what best suits your needs.
Bob Matthews from Design Sciences (Mathtype is there product) sometimes answers specifics on the various equation creation products
for MS Word in the Word newsgroup below if not here.

Hi, I have Mathtype 5.2 installed -- it was useful with Office2003 as math
editor enhancement wrt the one provided by Office.
Is it still needed, or its functionalities are embedded into Office 2007 ?
