RE: Office 2007 send to email

I had system manager installed for Exchange 2003, but had to uninstall it
after upgrading to Vista - none of the server tools work under Vista. I
think it was gone before I spent the time trying to get Office working. I
have installed it on four other machines now (using upgrade - they all had
2003) without any difficulty. It is unfortunate that install via GPO is no
longer an option (unless the end user is a local admin).

What a hassle!!!

I had this problem with two seperate machines. My first machine had Office
2003, from which I upgraded to the Beta 2 version of office. My most recent
machine was built fresh and Beta 2 was installed as first office product.
Everything was working then it stopped working. I uninstalled beta 2 to
install RTM, and issue remains.

I'll try your method of removing everything office related when I have time.
I hope that works. It'll be my luck that it will work for a short period of
time again and then stop.

I don't think I mentioned that I also have the Exchange 2003 SP2 management
tools installed for Active Directory. I know that causes mapi issues due to
dll conflicts with Office. I'm wondering if this version of exchange tools
is causing compatibility issues with office 2007.

I don't remember what I tried first on this machine. I had tried a couple of
upgrades of 2003 on other machines, but selected the customize option - don't
try that - what a nightmare. Upgrade seems to work pretty good on other
machines. I probably tried the custom install on the machine in question. I
uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times to no avail - I even upgraded
to Vista RTM thinking that it was a MAPI problem in the OS. Ended up
uninstalling Office, and going through each directory in the profiles and
Program Files along with the software areas in HKLM and HKCU in the registry
and deleting anything that looked like it belonged to any version of Office.
After that, I reinstalled and everything worked.

I have exaclty the same problem. Did you first do an upgrade from 2003 or had
you uninstalled it?

I spent a day and a half fooling around with it and finally got it to work.
I uninstalled the app, then went through all of the user folders and Program
Files folders and deleted every folder that appeared to relate to anything
associated with any version of Office. I went through the
HKLM/software/microsoft registry key and deleted all references to Office. I
rebooted and then reinstalled - seems to work okay now.

I too have this issue. I've had it since I've had the beta installed.

I rebuilt my machine not too long ago (prior to RTM), and I reinstalled the
beta office. My email functionality worked fine! I was so happy, however,
several weeks after that, the functionality broke. It must have been
something that was installed. Possibly my exchange 2003 administrative tools?

Anyhow I have since removed the beta and reinstalled with the RTM and I
still have no email functionality via the windows Shell or via the "send to
mail recipient" functions within the Office programs.

I've tried uninstalling the exchange components, but that has proven to not
change my issue.

Please advise!

Installed Office 2007 Pro RTM. When I try to use the send to email feature
(which worked fine on Office 2003) I get the following error: "Word couldn't
send mail because of MAPI failure: "Operation not supported". Any
suggestions?
