Hi Beth - Thank you very much - I think it very likely that this is the
problem - I will know for sure when I visit that client again to try it!

Word 2003 uses a new default connection method, OLE DB, to connect to.
the Access database. If you aren't able to see all of the queries then
it's likely due to the connection method rather than permissions. Try
changing the connection method to the same one you was used in Office
97. If you didn't specify a connection method then I'd say you used
the default which is DDE:
- In Word go to Tools/Options/General and turn on "Confirm conversions
at Open"
- Select the Access database as the data source again and when
prompted select the DDE Method

I have recently converted an Access database and associated Word
merge
documents from Office 97 to Office 2003.
It has generally gone well, but I now find that from Word 2003 that
only
some, but not all, of the queries in the associated Access 2003
database are
visible, when trying to reset the source as a query in the new
version of the
database.
There is a database workgroup file which Access has joined, and the
user has
all permissions on ALL queries - we don't see any differences
between the
queries which can be seen and those which cannot in this respect..
When the Word document is opened, there is no request to sign on as
there
used to be in the old version - I don't know if this is relevant.
How can I make sure that ALL queries are visible as potential word
data
sources?
