limits of networking office documents?

I have a client who wants me to setup a network of 3 PC. I have no problem
networking the PCs enabling file sharing etc - my only concern is that my
client wishes all the PCs to be able to work on the same documents at the
same time. To be clear she wants all users to be able to update word, excel
(& Filemaker Pro) documents that are open on all 3 PCs simultaneously so
that if user 1 changes a document the change is immediately applied to the
document being viewed by users 2 & 3. Is this possible at all? If so, please
provide some guidance.
