Hi Patrick
Once again thank you for the information, I have subscribed to your office
blog as now I know where I can get help.
Cheers for now,
Malcolm.

Hi Malcom,.
It's actually Microsoft's fault. There is a bug in B2TR that should be
fixed for RTM.
Risk? I would wager close to none. Norton scans any file you open anyhow
with its normal online virus scanner. In addition, the security features
of Office 2007 should prevent macros from just running.
I wouldn't be worried. I use Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate Edition,
which is the corporate big brother of NAV, and Windows Live OneCare.
Both don't even have an Office plugin.

Hi Patrick
I followed you advice and now I can get access to my files using office.
Thank you very much for the help.
How much of a security risk is it, not having the plugin operative? and will
Norton be fixing it?
Once again thanks,
Malcolm

Hi, this is Lincoln and I am having a similar problem that seems to be a
result of the anti-virus program (Norton 2006 Anti-Virus) on my computer
being incompatible with the technical refresh version of the Beta. If you
look at the error message that pops up and go to the MIcrosoft Knowledge Base
article 835404 it gives instructions on how to disable the Norton plug-in,
but for earlier versions of Office. I can't seem to find a way within Office
2007 Beta to simply disable the automatic virus scan.
If anyone knows how to disable the automatic virus scan from within Office,
please let me know.

Hi Lee
Thanks for the help it looks like I will just have to delete it all.
Cheers,
Malcolm.

If you look in 'Add/Remove Programs' and click Show Updates, the Beta 2 TR is
listed as an update but it cannot be removed. The only way you would be able
to do it is to remove Office 2007 (everything) and then re-install Beta 2
only.

Hi Lee
I have tried to reinstall , still the same. Is there anyway to uninstall the
beta refresh? to get back to just the beta version.

Tried re-installing?
They probably directed you to this page becasue this is a BETA product and
there is very limited technical support, mostly just these newsgroups!

I had been running the Beta 2 of Office no problem. When I installed the
Technical Refresh, I now have a problem where non of the programmes will
load there relevant files.
Can anyone help as all microsoft do is direct you to this page.
Thanks.
Malcolm.
