Re: Office Beta 2 Technical Refresh won't install.

Sorry Patrick!

Thanks for helping me though.

This is an excerpt from the log:

OPatchInstall: Property 'SYS.ERROR.CODE' value '0x80004005'
OPatchInstall: Property 'SYS.ERROR.INERROR' value '1'
OPatchInstall: Property 'SYS.ERROR.TYPE' value 'HRESULT'

I believe I have found what the problem is.

By trying to repair-install the orginal Beta release (since my after
attempting the B2TR install, all office programs wont start) I get an error
telling me that I am out of space on Drive "I:" which is strange since that
is my CD drive.

Finding the problem was one thing, but I cannot think of how to get a
solution as both my %tmp% and %temp% are correctly set up.

Thanks Again

What's the last value of SYS.ERROR.CODE?

I am having the same problem and wonder if I could ask your help too Patrick.

I have started my own thread, however it is in the Office.Setup section.

The last SYS.PROC.RESULT value for me is 17302.

Your help would be much appreciated,

Chris

I posted this Friday with no response. Reposting hoping someone with answer
just missed it over the weekend.

Trying to Install the Beta 2 Technical Refresh.

Runing XP Pro. Have the Beta 2 of office installed and been using it. I was
also using the BCM beta. I uninstalled the BCM beta (per instructions for its
TR) before trying to install the Office TR.

The error I get is the one "The Installation of this package failed. Please
see for more information".

I know that that error should point you to KB923718. And I have gone there
and followed all the info there (clear temp directory, I got 25 gig of free
space). I created a log per instructions, put I don't see how to post that
here.

Based on other messages I've seen I know the sys.proc.result value from the
log is helpful to know. I have two different values in the log for it 17021
and 17303

Help.......
