You are still not getting Microsoft directly. These newsgroups (or rather the website you found) are peer-supported, meaning all of us here are Microsoft users like you and don't work for Microsoft.
To answer your question number 2: My personal preference is Google. If I remember correctly, Google owns roughly half of the search engine market, so it's the search engine used by the most people. Is it the best? There is really no objective measurement and it comes mainly down to which one you feel most comfortable with.
Question 1: Outlook is an email program, but not an email account. That means you need an email account, e.g. provided by an ISP, to use Outlook for your email. MSN is an email account. If I were you, I'd keep using your current setup with Outlook, if that works fine for you. The only thing you need to look at is whether you are able to still use the email address that Outlook is set up with now that you have a new ISP. If your email address is with your old ISP, it will probably terminate pretty soon. If that happens, you might want to take the offer from MSN. I don't use MSN myself, so I don't know how and if an MSN account can be used from Outlook. I'd suggest that if your email address is with your old ISP, repost here and ask for help on, and if you can, how to set up MSN with Outlook. Someone here will definitely be able to help you with that. If MSN turns out not be an option, there are many alternatives out there and someone here again will be able to help you set it up with Outlook.
