Re: Microsoft Graph error box appears

Having Graph in those folders shouldn't cause it to try to open when you
first boot up.

I think you should run the search again, making sure to search all files --
including system folders and hidden files and folders.

When I turn on my computer, an error box appears titled "Microsoft Graph"
and
the error message reads "This program must be run from within another
program." As I mention below, I have installed Office 2003 Student
Teacher
edition to upgrade my Office97 professional edition. I still have Access
module from my Office 97 version still on my computer.
Can anyone help me diagnosis this situation and help me get rid of this
error box?

Thanks for reponding...I checked my computer using Explorer typed in
"Graph*.exe" and found the following files:
c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Graph8
c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Graph

As I mentioned earlier, I installed Office 2003 to upgrade my old Office
97.
I removed all old programs that have been replaced with the newer 2003
versions. However, 97 Access in still on my system.

Thank you for mentioning your Office and Windows versions. It's
helpful.
Sounds as if the Graph EXE has gotten misplaced into one of the startup
folders.

I'd do a search for Graph*.exe and see where on your harddrive it shows
up.
(graph8.EXE comes with Office 97, and graph.EXE comes with Office
2003.)

These files should be in, for example,
C:\Program Files\Office 97\Office\graph8.exe or
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 11\graph.exe

If the files are in other folders, try renaming them to graphold or
badgraph
or something. (If you're set so you can see file extensions, you can
rename
them to graph.OLD and graph8.OLD.) You can delete them if you're sure
Graph
is working in your Office applications and it's just a copy of the
file
that's in the wrong place. I'd probably rename them, give it some time
to
make sure all is well, and then delete them.

I recently loaded Office 2003 Student Teacher edition on my Dell

Office 97
professional to this newer edition. Now when I start my computer, a
box
appears that is labeled "Microsoft Graph" and the error message reads
"This
program must be run from within another program" How can I get rid
of
this
error box? Everything seems to work ok.
