Re: PowerPoint Slide Show

Yes, uninstall everything and start from the beginning. I know it's a pain
but that trial version really digs its way in and messes with any future
installations. As a rule, I advise my friends and family to uninstall it as
soon as they get their computer set up. Well, after they get their AV up and
running with a current set of virus definitions and all applicable Windows
patches installed.

Tonight I finally had a chance to talk to my friend on the phone, and we
could only find MS Office under Add/Remove Programs, so he removed that.
PowerPoint did not remain, so he'll have to download that again from
online. (It says it's there, but it won't open). I'll send him the
website that was kindly sent to me earlier. Should he first Remove
PowerPoint also? (It was listed separately from Office under Add/Remove
programs.)

I agree - but I'm not sure just HOW he should uninstall the trial version
popup. Would it be listed under Add/Remove Programs?

The OP should dump the trial version (I say that a lot) and the viewer,
reboot, and then reinstall the viewer. I think that might work.
(Assuming the trial is properly and completely uninstalled.)

Ah, yeah, that sounds totally plausible.

I'm thinking they still have the trial version of Office installed
and that the trial for PPT is trying to open instead of the Viewer.
Seems to me I heard this just a few weeks ago.
